With more than 25 years of experience in ballroom dance, Amy Lawrence Ballroom Dance provides quality and professional instruction to our students. Amy is motivated by her love of dance and the passion to transfer her knowledge and skills to others so their creativity and talent can shine.
Amy Lawrence, Owner/Instructor
As a performer, Amy Lawrence has captivated audiences with her sophistication and class on the dance floor. With over 25 years experience as a teacher, Amy has helped countless students with their dancing goals including wedding dance instruction, social dancing skills, and competitive ballroom training.
Amy holds teaching qualifications in all American styles of ballroom dance and has competed professionally in American and International styles. Amy trained in ballroom dance at the famous Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Boston while earning her BM in music at the Boston Conservator. Amy caught the eye of instructors from the Fred Astaire Studios in Boston where she taught for 5 years and then relocated to the FADS in New York City Westside for 2 years. In 2010 she moved back to her hometown of Los Angeles where she continues to teach independently and shares her love of ballroom dance to dancers of all ages.
Amy regularly performs in live shows, in films, commercials and in music videos. She currently dances with Infinite Flow Dance- an inclusive dance company and the Hollywood It Girls, an all female 1920s entertainment group. Amy has also choreographed all over the US and is resident choreographer for the Pacific Opera Project.
